Reading Is Fun...

Just finished reading Skin. It took me...just under four hours, I suppose. Maybe less. I started reading at 3, stopped at 4, then with dinner, Lost, and a few other interruptions, I finished about 10 minutes ago. It's a pretty good read. The twist is certainly a bit far-fetched for some readers, but I enjoyed the book. If you enjoy Dekker's previous works, you'll probably enjoy this one two.

What I am excited about is his next book(s), which will continue from the Circle trilogy (Black, Red, and White). The first two of this apparently six-part series come out in February. So I'm ready for February...though July certainly takes precedent (what with the movie of Order of the Phoenix and then The Deathly Hallows both making July full of Harry Potter for everyone, whether they want it to be full of him or not).

In A Harry Potter State Of Mind

Lately, I've been reading a lot. This is no real surprise for me, as I've always enjoyed reading for pleasure. What might be surprising to some is that, lately, I've been reading Harry Potter. See, I've seen all the movies (I had seen Sorcerer's Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban all already, but my little brother got all four for Christmas, so I was able to watch Goblet of Fire) already, but that got me interested in checking out the books. I started simply by going and getting paperback copies of Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince. I read those, and...wow. I have to say, I was impressed. They're "children's" books, but they're incredibly well-written. I had to go back and get the first four and read them (I decided to get all of them in the hardcover version, since the two paperbacks are bent like crazy now). They're even better than the movies, what with all the added detail you miss in the movie.

So I went back and got all the books in hardcover, and I've read them all (Including the last two again). And now, I'm considering going back and reading them yet again. They're just really enthralling books.

I think I might wait on starting them over again, though. I need to go get Ted Dekker's new book, Skin, still. In fact, after I'm done watching Monday night's episode of 24 again, I think I might have to go out and get that one...
