Playlist Of Tasty Goodness Tonight...

...Although, to be fair, I always have playlists full of totally awesome songs!

Tonight's playlist is nice, however...running back into some songs I haven't played in a while. I've been making a few different "Top 25" playlists; mostly of artists (I've got Dashboard Confessional and Relient K done so far, and I may do a few others later). However, I'm currently listening to the Top 25 soundtrack songs. These would be songs that come from TV shows or movies and what not. Aside from the instrumentals (Mainly stuff from 24, though I think I'll have to add The Patronus Light from Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban in there as well...), there's some sweet tracks from Dashboard Confessional and Snow Patrol (Spiderman 2 and Spiderman 3, respectively), Evanescence (Bring Me To Life was first heard on the Daredevil soundtrack), Switchfoot and Mandy Moore (Take a guess...yeah, A Walk To Remember), some awesome stuff from !Hero: The Rock Opera (including Kill The Hero and Raised In Harlem), and even some stuff from a non-rock musical, Moulin Rouge (Oh yeah, I said it...Ewan McGregor can saaaaannnngggg). It's quite enjoyable stuff, I must say.

Speaking of rediscovering music, I rediscovered Paramore today. I picked up the lead single from their sophomore disc (Riot!), Misery Business, as well as the video for the first song I heard from them, Emergency. I had forgotten about them, since I don't exactly listen to the 2006 Warped Tour Compilation all the time (That, obviously, being the place I first heard the band). Good stuff. A disc I'm now interested in the release of.

Tomorrow is Week 2 of The Storm's series, 3: The Battle Within. This week is 3 Ways To Lose The Battle Within (i.e. 3 things we want to not do while fighting the battle going on inside of each of us). It's going to be a cool message, I think.

Spiders and iPod and Coupons, Oh My!

Tonight is definitely going to be a super-sized edition of The Storm. Of course, there is the start of 3: The Battle Within. This is going to be a really cool series, I think. Most of the kids in The Storm seem to be excited about Spiderman 3, and I think a lot of them are interested in this series because of that (It doesn't hurt that I've been promoting it for the last six weeks). We're going to begin with 3 Facts About The Battle Within, which seems like a good place to start (After all, you need to know the basics of the battle before you can figure out what will help you win and lose the battle). I finished up everything about an hour and a half ago, and it looks pretty good.

But, more than that, we're also doing a bunch of giveaways tonight. We were going to give away an iPod Nano last week, in conjunction with iLife's last week...but last week was Spring Break for the middle schools and high schools around us. A lot of the kids went away, not to mention that the church doesn't do anything the Wednesday of Spring Break. It didn't seem right to give away a bunch of stuff if only two kids were actually going to be able to make it. So instead, we're giving it all away tonight. Aside from the big giveaway of the Nano, we're also giving away a $15 iTunes card, a copy of Family Force 5's Business Up Front, Party In The Back and a copy of Relient K's Five Score And Seven Years Ago. Four chances to win...that certainly is a cool thing for everyone that comes.

And we're also handing out coupons for the Flood Cafe shows on Friday night and Saturday night. Each of the kids are going to be able to take a bunch and hand them out to their friends at school, and their friends will, of course, get $1 off (Letting them get into the show for $4...four measly dollars to see five awesome local bands...deals don't get much better than that!). What's more, though, is that each person who brings a coupon in will, in essence be giving $4 to the person who gave them the coupon. That $4 will be going towards the students' summer trip to Centrifuge, which is going to be sweet. And, to convince some of those that are a bit hesitant that Centrifuge will indeed be sweet, we're showing off the video from The Flood's trip to 'Fuge two years ago. Since none of these guys or girls have ever been to Centrifuge, a lot of them aren't sure what to expect. Well, after this video, I think we'll have a few more that are mighty excited about going to Fuge.

Yes, it's going to be a jam-packed night...I really want it to start right now! Alas, there are still 3 1/2 hours or so before we begin...
